How much do they pay?

CastingWords pays its transcription workers from $0.15 to $1, depending on the urgency and priority of the job.

This amount varies in every transcription work based on the grading of the transcription since work is graded on a range of 0 to 9, 9 being the highest grade.

For example, if your work is graded 5, you just get the base pay amount given. if they grade your work as a 9, then you get a total of 3.0 times of your base pay amount. But you also have to careful not to be graded between 0-4 otherwise you will not get paid.

When you first get accepted, you’ll be given a New Transcriber badge. And then you’ll be given a Beginner badge when you get your first assignment approved. After submitting 10 assignments they’ll give you your Working Hard badge.

Badges are important because the more badges you accumulate, the more assignments you’ll have available to you.

Every time you submit an assignment, your badge level will either increase or decrease. To ensure you’ll always have high scores on your badges, you’ll need to be very careful with your work and aim for high accuracy.

Your track records your badges will also affect your future grades and overall standing with the company. Being consistent with your performance you will get more jobs.

If your history record having low grades and low scores/badges, fewer jobs might become available to you until finally, there won’t be any available transcription jobs for you to work on anymore.

How do you get paid?

CastingWords will only pay through PayPal, so it’s a must for you to have a verified PayPal account when you decide to work for them. Their minimum requirement for payout is only $1, so that’s quite easy to achieve.

They pay every Friday of the week at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. You just click the ‘REQUEST TRANSFER’ button, and your total earnings for that week will be deposited to the PayPal email address.
